Hey, I can't get jEnesisDS to run (latest version 0.7.4).

I downloaded jEnesisDS from DS Scene. jEnesisDS is on the root of my mSD, and some unzipped MD and & SMS ROMs are in a folder called jEnesisDS.

Whenever I start jEnesisDS on a DS2, I just get a filebrowser, but no single ROM is shown there. I just can browse through the folders of my mSD, that's it.

I had problems with S8DS.nds as well, it took me a day to understand that you need a folder "s8ds" on your mSD for settings.cfg. It won't work with "S8DS", it needs to be "s8ds" or it simply won't work. Anyway, you can place your ROMs wherever you like in S8DS.nds.

So did I do something wrong with jEnesisDS? People are saying that it runs Phantasy Star II & IV very well, so I really need that.

S8DS.nds runs Phantasy Star I excellent. Just perfect.

It's been a while since I used this one, but I seem to remember that it's best not to put the ROMs in the jEnesisDS folder, but instead put them in a 'SMS' or 'SMD' folder (or anything for that matter, I just prefer naming folders with ROMs to their respective consoles/handhelds).

Hm, never had that problem. Make sure your roms have the file endings .smd or .gen or .bin. You unzipped them right?
Oh, maybe you just missed this: It doesn´t matter where you put the roms, but: You have to navigate to the folder you put them into when you first start up jenesisDS´s menu.
And I´ve read that some people have less problems with 0.7.3. Maybe also try that?
Hopefully one of these advices work.

Now there's written: .smd, .bin, and .gen support

But my ROMs are SMS and MD.

I renamed them. Now I can see them in the filebrowser, Master won't start at all and Genesis starts but is just wrong.

So you're right, it doesn't work with this ROMs. This ROMs work without any problem on my Wii emulator.

So I'll do some research now and dump my games again.  chill

Thx for your help, guys. It's working now. You just need other ROMs. And while dumping them I found that someone translated PS1 & PS2 into grench & german. Nice.  chill
