I have an M3 DS Simply and a EZ-Flash V which I recently got for playing GBA games. I heard that thanks to the extra ram (or something like that) from EZ-Flash V I can play SNES emulators perfectly. Is it true? Because any games I have tried with SNEmulDS have issues with graphics, sound and/or frame rate. Only Pop'n TwinBee: Rainbow Bell Adventures plays almost fine (it has only minor problems with sound and framerate some times but not something serious). Note that I have SNEmulDS and SNES roms on M3 DS Simply. Will be problem been fixed if I put SNEmulDS and SNES roms on EZ-Flash V? If so, how?

From the snemul.cfg file:
Code
# External memory pak configuration:
# You can use external memory pack (like Opera RAM, Slot 2 card reader...) to
# increase memory available for emulator.
# There are two modes available for external memory:
#
# MapExtMem = 0 => Use external memory like a disk with paging enabled.
# In this mode, the emulator copy part of the ROM into the DS RAM as the
# the game needs it. It is the fastest method in most games.
#
# MapExtMem = 1 -> Map external memory directly, doesn't use memory paging.
# In this mode, the emulator doesn't copy the ROM into the DS RAM, it uses it
# directly from the external memory. As external memory is much slower than
# DS RAM, it is most of the time the slower method, but if a game uses a large
# range of memory (like graphic intensive game like Mortal Kombat), it can
# be faster than the other method. Some games can crash or refuse to launch,
# because the ROM cannot be locked read-only.
MapExtMem = 1

Basically, you don't have to do anything special, the extra RAM option is on by default, but it only works well for large ROMs. You'll never be able to play SNES ROMs perfectly on a DS.

Make sure you get the latest version of SNEmulDS (v0.6 WIP2).
