No one has the time/interest to keep up with this crap anymore (hence the news post about a week ago). Firmware updates no longer bring cool new stuff to the table, so it doesn't matter whether you download them now or ten months from now.

Ok, thats also true it only change the icon so its not that interesting, same for akaio they could already do the RTS but they are waiting for Team Acekard to put it into there firmware so they could do it also but The team is never going to do it afterall and that is really bad!!!

So this allows for firmware `1.4.4 to work with the AceKard? And if so does that mean the AceKard will come stalk with this update if I buy one now? My device is already 1.4.4 just bought it

Depends on if the card is updated or not. Email the reseller asking if they can update it for you. If they won't you have to find someone with a DSphat, DSlite or a DSi that hasn't been updated. If you habe any further questions you can always ask here.
