This update does essentially the same as the patch update from the same date, except that this is the entire EOS , so you don't need to download two separate files. I tried it some days ago, it's actually working good.
You need a fast Micro SDHC card to get the most out of this, but Samsung Class 10 cards with 24 M/sec reading speed are really cheap now, that shouln't be a problem anymore. We didn't have such good Micro SDHC cards in the past.
People should try that. We don't have much choice anymore, and this DS2 stuff never caused any big issues for users. It's OK.
Hey, thanks Nathan for the credit. I'm glad they updated the full EOS with all the cumulative patches. The latest patch archive bugged me because they never have included all of the patched files since the last official EOS release. So at least they finally updated the EOS, although very silently.
