You may remember this title that started off with a Demo release in 2010. After the great reception Nacho Cuesta had with his Demo, he then went on to try his luck at finding a publisher to get the title released commercially. Having had some interest from 3 companies, only to have them back out months later by simply not replying to his emails, he's decided to release the full game for free!
I would imagine a lot of you aren't that interested in DS homebrew at this stage in the scene, but I would still advise trying this game as it deserves your attention. The play style resembles that of the Mario Vs. Donkey Kong games, using cute sprite work within a platform puzzler featuring a heap of stages to play through. It's a shame the title didn't get released on a commercial scale, but you end up getting this polished homebrew for free so we can't complain.
Damn you! Now I want to eat those chocolate cookies from David the Gnome (the kind that came with stickers you had to put in a sticker album to complete a story), but they haven't sold them anymore since what... 1989 or so?
And this game LOOKS good (except for the pillow shading here and there), but I'm afraid it might not actually be fun. There's a thin line between fun and boring / tedious with platformers. Mario tends to do it right. I got a feeling this one's doing it wrong, if I look at all the stuff going on in one single screenshot.
Wait... is that a hula-hooping aardvark? I take back what I just said
This is a puzzle game just like Mario Vs Donkey Kong. It's not a platformer. When you played Mario Vs Donkey Kong a lot, you'll see some similarities to this homebrew which might be another reason why this couln't get a publisher - there is already a real Mario Vs Donkey Kong game at the DSiWare Store. But it's still a very nice and well done game. I like it a lot.
Very Good, I enjoyed it unfortunately I found a bug. After playing a level, the touch screen is disabled so I had to keep retarting the game to go to next level sadly. This needs to be addressed.
