archeide has updated the popular SNEmulDS to 0.6 alpha. Included here is a new GUI along with a scaling mode with 3 variations. There's various other additions and alterations aswell so check out the changelog below for the full low down.
Changelog
Various External RAM packages can be used to improve large rom emulation, see snemul.cfg for more informations. Scaling support has three modes :
Full screen : nearly like snezzids
Half scaling : “smart” scaling, only reduce half the backgrounds, and doesn’t squish sprites. It looks quite fine in games.
No scaling : no scaling at all, classic SNEmulDS mode, still default
Here is the complete list of changes compated to 0.5 beta:
New GUI using framebuffer for sub screen
Better human interface, improved file selector (alphabetical sorted), buttons, check boxes, multi choose zones, etc.
New GUI supports joypad (joypad is not supported when emulator is running however).
Multi language support (more than 10 supported, including katakan japanese !)
Memory pak support (Opera RAM, Slot 2 card reader, etc. using libram) with paging or with large ROM mapping
Scaling with pseudo bi-linear filtering and sprites squishing : full screen scaling (like snezzids), half scaling (half scaled and without sprites squishing), and no scaling (classic snemulds mode)
I was fooled by the picture at first, because the GUI looked the same, but when I booted it up, it was COMPLETELY different. None of the games ran any better (except maybe Yoshi's Cookie, which works now, and I remember not being able to get it to work in the last version), but now it has Scaling!! That was the only thing that had annoyed me in the previous versions, because it caused some games to be annoying to play, such as Super Metroid. I'd always have to fix the areas in which the screen shows, but not anymore! The GUI is amazingly better, with buttons being BIG, instead of just small text next to each other. There is also detailed descriptions (usually) on the pages that need it.
I did catch one bug that wasn't in the previous version. When you go to "GFX Config" and you change the order of the backgrounds, BG2 begins on "2", but when you change it, it will only cycle through 0 and 1, making it impossible to go back to the default. Also BG0 and BG1 do the same thing (but you can get those back to the default). Only BG0(low) works correctly.
10/10

My only problem now it that Chrono Trigger just doesn't work, loads up a white screen and then nothing, also any of the games from the Donkey Kong series appear to crash the emu, I have to restart the DS to get it working again. I've tried replacing the games and emu with the same results, anyone else able to confirm this?
Thats funny, I had the exact same exprience as blockchop. The new interface is great and the games I have are working much better by and large except now chronotrigger wont work when in the last version it worked a little bit. Love the speed settings and speed hacks now available as well as the scaling. The gui also looks great. Awesome update
I think it's the roms that you guys have. Chrono trigger kind of works.(red text) although I haven't gotten too far into the game to see if it screws up anywhere.
And the DKC games work perfectly! They look great(most of the time), and work awsome at normal speed.

I can confirm that Chrono Trigger (U)[!] (good dump), doesn't work. It freezes after loading the file and never reaches the menu. Hoever, some other games work fine now. Like Shin Megami Tensei, with only a few glitches here and there (and a missing keyboard for the beginning part).

large = big. small rom = small filesize, large rom = large filesize. Therefore, a larger rom file would have a larger filesize than a normal rom file, yes?
