Tako2 Lab! have updated DsDsRevolution. Timing for hold arrows has been improved an a bug in the custom backgrounds has been fixed. Read on for instructions on how to use it. DsDsRevolution uses Stepmania files (.sm) and mp3 files for music. If you aren't familiar with stepmania you should know you will need these sm files to even play the game. But the good thing is you can make your own, so essentially you can play any song you like. Check out stepmania homepage for faqs, song downloads and more info on creating your own songs.

DsDsRevolution - A stepmania clone for NDS - Uses stepmania data files(sm files) and mp3 source files - Ogg files will need to be converted to mp3 before use (source files need to be updated too) - Only "Dance-single" mode
- Use at your own risk
Install - Use a propper dldi patch for your card - Put the DsDsR directory in the root folder of your card. the .nds file can be anywhere. - Songs are put in the /DsDsR/Songs directory, in the same fashion as you do with Stepmania - For example /DsDsR/Songs/<group name>/<song>/ You are free to choose <group name> and <song> yourself - You need atleast the .sm and .mp3 file in a directory - Supports #BACKGROUND in the .sm file, so be sure to place the background file with the sm file if you use one. Be aware that background files has to be resized to 256*192 pixels, or there will be display errors - There can be a maximum of 32 groups, and 32 songs per group
How to play - Song choice screen - When you start the program, the songlist will be displayed. Chose the song you want to play. - Move the cursor with the up and down buttons. Scroll one screen using the L and R button - Choose difficulty after chosing a song - Use A button to choose, B button to cancel - Pressing the X button in the song list will choose a random song - Pressing the X button on the difficultyscreen will start the game without a lifemeter - Pressing the Y button on the difficultyscreen will start the game in autoplay mode
Game screen - Press the buttons in sync with the arrows on the screen - Button config can be edited in DsDsR.ini - Start pauses the game - Start button on the results screen brings you back to the song list - Select button changes the screen mode
I wish they would change the controls ; up arrow = up or x ; down arrow = down or b .....etc...anyone else wishes this?? then this game would be perfect.

You can customise the controls in the DSDSR.ini file, just change it so it looks like that:
Holy Crack! i didn't know you could change the controlls! thanks guys.!..this game is now perfect...if only every song worked....but hey it's homebrew/.
If you're going to change the controls like that, then for crying out loud use the ABXY buttons, you can't do Up + Down and Left + Right jumps on the D-Pad, never mind Up+Down+Left+Right jumps if you're using ITG sims.
So far, I must say that I love this homebrew... Managed to just barely pull off Lawn Wake IV (Black) earlier in the bus station using the default controls (I started playing spreadstyle on the keyboard anyway, so it feels pretty natural) Hopefully this update fixes my song list freezing
EDIT: It works! It now doesn't show the simfiles that have been freezing my game (Jumped from 13 to 9) so I'll be playing this much more now

Remember, asking for roms is against forum rules, but spamming release topics with "z0mgz u broke t3h ruelz" after a moderator has taken action is an annoyance.
"- Use at your own risk" more likely "don't step on your ds!"
this is pretty much what i needed for my ds, i had to use that huge psp just to play stepmania. it just needs a touchscreen support, because the ds buttons are sooo small for my hands~ (and because taiko failed to make a hole on my screen). now, where was that ds djmax homebrew again?
btw, my first post here after years lurking *celebrates*
