Hmm very interesting post, thanks for the headsup. Making a move is a big thing, as I have firefox customized in a way I love to use it. Are you a computer veteran, or do you THINK this browser is faster than chrome and firefox? firefox is on 14, beta 7
I can't say anything about the speed of it myself as I have a mere 4 Mbps connection so everything loads at more or less the same speed on any browser, but according to articles on other websites, this version of Opera is as fast as or faster than Chrome at loading webpages. Not to mention if you use Opera Turbo (which has been around for ages but works even better than before now) webpages load near-instantly because they are compressed on Opera's servers first.
Whether you think this is worth switching browsers for or not, it's worth giving it a try at least.
I decided to give it a try, not bad at all, it can be similar to firefox in some ways, but has unique features. That turbo boost thing really works! Im not sure if it makes the memory usage rise up, I once saw it at 280,000K of memory usage, both firefox and opera are memory eaters. I spent over an hour trying new extensions, I think Im gonna move onto Opera little by little hooking it up. I really hate the bookmarks though, its auto organized in abc order. overall, as for speed, opera wins, but it has extensions like firefox and chrome so its very similar in that way
