DSi save exploit goes open source hacks for cooking coach and classic word games
WinterMute has made the DSi save game exploits open source. This allows you to run your own code in DSi mode from either a Cooking Coach or Classic Word Games save file. You will need to edit the asm source file to reflect your region (US and UK currently supported), and of course add your own custom code.

This little project allows you to compile assembly straight into a Cooking Coach or Classic Word Games save game file. This file can then be written to the game card with something like eepinator from a normal DS.
The current assembly just paints the screens read, reads the save file from eeprom to RAM then jumps into that where it paints the screen green.
If you find anything interesting then let us know in #dsdev on irc.blitzed.org
With thanks to Blasty for pointing me at modifying desmume to test exploit code. Basically I added code to check the program counter for particular values which I then added to the save file until it went bang.
You need to compile the source with your own added assembly code and transfer the save to a real Cooking Coach or Word Games DSi enhanced card in order to execute your code in DSi mode.
This exploit won't help you running anything on a flashcard.
this...was SO stupid to post before we found a fix for the DSi 4.1 flashcard block...now nintendo will have something new to block in the next firmware update -_-
still....its cool.....
but do you need the actual DSi cooking games for this?

You do know that the fight is only on commercial flashcarts right?
Custom codes, apps, ect.. in the DS community aren't being attacked.
And a save exploit can't run commercial ROMs so why exactly should Nintendo, 3rd party developers, or any pirate even care?

By using SavSender, or Rudolph's Wifi Backup Tool, all small applications which can back up and restore savefiles on commercial ROM's using a small FTP server. One, if they did not have a Slot 2 device, would use these.

Nintendo will block (with a firmware update) ANYTHING that will exploit their System...regardless of how "dangerous" It can be...
they blocked iPlayer...could that play ROMS?...nope....just movie files...
