I heard that with the DS Supercard ONE Evolution OS, the freezing isn't happening. I just loaded up the new OS onto mine, w/ default settings, to see if this is the case.

Edit: Definitely still the case. I wish the SuperCard team would hurry up. Though, it odes seem like every door open gets slower, so I know when to time my saves.

The file having the ".bak" extension is the backup copy of the original nds file.

The universal play patch automatically edits the hex strings in the ROM that serve as anti-piracy protection. Whenever you see one of these updated notices, it just means that a new game id (and the related hex strings) has been added to the patch.
